I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You.” “The two rays denote Blood and Water, the pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross…. Today is Divine Mercy Sunday as declared by Pope John Paul II. Through the prompting of Our Lord in the life of St. Faustina, the Church has come to celebrate the first Sunday after Easter as the occasion to call all sinners not only to repentance, but also to the endless font of God’s mercy which we experience through the Ressurection Christ.
On this Sunday, all punishment for all sin is forgiven as one goes to confession and receives Holy Communion. Not only was this told to St. Faustina, but the Church has declared the opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence on this Feast Day.
Sister Faustina was the first saint canonized in the new millennium. She was a humble nun who received many manifestations from Our Lord. Pope John Paul was most convinced of the veracity and sincerity of her spiritual life. The Feast of the Divine Mercy has been celebrated for years in Poland and the Vatican and only recently has been added to the Church’s universal calendar.
Please take advantage of the opportunity to go to Confession on this date. Confession may be done either 10 days before or after Divine Mercy Sunday.
The image of the Divine Mercy must also be venerated on that day.

Please keep in your prayers the souls and families of Margaret Berka and Connie Sloger whose funeral Masses were this past week here at St. Patrick’s. Both died on Easter Sunday, a fitting time for two ladies of faith to be drawn in the ultimate way unto the greatest experience of Our Resurrected Lord who had been their companion through earthly life’s journey.
We are not resting for a minute in our efforts to finish up the interior of the Church. We will begin shortly to construct the Communion rail and will affix the decorative lip on the top edge of the tile on the walls and column as soon as we can get enough of the material. Thanks to all who pitch in to continue to make our church the most beautiful and peaceful place to worship in Omaha.

Adoration & Benediction
Eucharistic Adoration is held on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. until Benediction at 5:00 p.m. The church must be accessed with the combination lock available from the secretary.
Operation Welcome
Operation Welcome provides social services for the Catholic Sudanese Community. They also handle registrations of Sudanese to St. Patrick’s Parish. If you need to register or have another need, please call Sr. Chris at 709-0505. Father Buckley does not handle any of the social service needs. Thank you.

There are several people preparing to become Catholic in our Parish. Lent is the most special time to keep them in your prayers and to offer penance for them.
